1/14/2024 0 Comments Factorio on switchCurrently the controller support is optimized for and built around the Nintendo Switch system, the Joy-Con™ controllers, and their features. I actually started working on the port for Nintendo Switch before the Steam Deck was even announced, so first I will finish what I started. What about Steam Deck and PC controller support? I recommend everyone to play through the first levels of our tutorial campaign, as it's a great way to get acquainted with playing Factorio with a controller. After becoming familiar with it, I find it very comfortable. Playing with a controller is slightly slower, and will take some getting used to (just as it does when playing with keyboard and mouse for the first time). But don't expect to be able to build mega-bases without UPS starting to drop, sometimes significantly.Ĭan you really play Factorio with controllers?įactorio was developed for 10 years with only keyboard and mouse in mind, so making sure the game is fully playable with controllers was no easy task. As for UPS, the average player should be able to go through all of the content and launch a rocket, while staying at 60 UPS. You should expect 30-60 FPS (both in TV mode and handheld mode). We worked on many optimizations to make sure the game performs as well as possible. One of the first questions you might ask is how does the game perform. There will be no save transfer feature at launch, but you can transfer your saves using multiplayer. Save files are compatible between all platforms.Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play, but not required for LAN games. Multiplayer will be available, including playing cross-platform.The gameplay is not simplified and there are no artificial limits. All of the game's content will be available.Today we are finally revealing it.Īs announced during Nintendo Direct, Factorio is coming to Nintendo Switch! It's already in the final stages and the global release date is set for 28th October 2022. I hope i explained it well, but sorry if it wasn't written in the best way, i'm not a native speaker. For the past one and a half years I've been working on a secret Factorio project. (obviusly you can use any % of power and any item in the chest). Reading the content of the top-right chest and connecting it with the power-switch will let you connect the power to your steam engines when the power in the accumulator drops to 20% and disconnect the switch when the power hit 100%. Doing this, the item will remain in the top-right chest when the power goes from 20 to 100, and then moved back in his starting position, where it stays until the power goes back to 20%. What this does is: the one item is moved from his starting position when the power hit 20% and then moved back when it reach 100% (The 2 inserter in the middle are always active, and they are used to give the space to put the 2 controlled inserters). Each combinator is connected to one inserter, as you can see in the image. One of the two combinators give a signal when the power=20% and the other when the power=100%. I'll try to explain it as best as i can, here is the image: īasically the accumulator is connected to two combinators, and the % of the power is given to the signal P. (Probably there is a better solution for this out there, something fancy with a lot of logic behind it). After some research i didn't found a setup that pleased me, and i had an idea for one. If you simply read the " of one accumulator and set up a switch that is activated only when the % goes below a certain value, when the % reach that value the switch will continiusly switch instantaniusly. This is a little setup that let you disable your steam engines when your accumulator are full and activate them when the power goes below a certain %.
